    Getting to Nottingham

    Public Transport

    David Ross Sports Village is served by a host of public transport services, and this is the best and easiest way to get to and from the University Campus

    • Nottingham Train Station

      The nearest train station is Nottingham, which is approximately 4 miles away and the principal railway station of Nottingham. It is also a nodal point on the city's tram system.


      Rail services connect Nottingham with London St. Pancras, Liverpool Lime Street, Norwich, Leicester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Leeds. You can book tickets via Trainline using the link below. You can book tickets via Trainline by clicking here.

    • Tram

      Nottingham Express Transit (NET) is a 32-kilometre-long tram system running through Nottingham and is a great and unique way to get around the city. 


      As part of a sponsorship deal with NET and the event you can secure tickets to use the Tram Network within Nottingham from Wednesday 27th March through to Tuesday 2 April for only £20.


      You can pre-order your tickets by clicking the button below and collect from the Indoor Hockey UK Office at David Ross Sports Village from Tuesday 26th March 2024.


      If you don’t want to pre-order, you can get tram tickets from the venue during the event - just head to the IHUK Office and pay on site.

    • Buses

      Nottingham has an extensive bus network that will get you around quickly and easily. More information and tickets can be purchased from Nottingham City Transport

    • Cycle

      Dedicated cycle parking facilities are available across University Park campus. Cycle stores, cycle parking, showers and lockers/drying cabinets are all available. 

    • Taxi / Minicab

      There are taxi ranks throughout the city and immediately adjacent to the main railway and bus stations.

    • Walking

      The venue is a 10 minute walk from Nottingham City Centre and 15 minutes walk from the train station. Walking routes around Nottingham can be found by clicking here. 

    Flying

    With over 80 international teams heading to Nottingham from across the World, we appreciate many teams will be flying to the UK. East Midlands Airport and Birmingham Airport are the closest International airports to the host city. Additional airports are also available, including all major London Airports, which are approximately 3 to 4 hours away if travelling by public transport.

    • East Midlands Airport (International)

      The nearest International Airport to Nottingham is East Midlands Airport which has flights to and from Lanzarote, Paris, Alicante, Rzeszow, Rome and more. Airlines Aer  Lingus, Aurigny, Balkan Holidays, Blue Islands, Eastern Airways, Jet2, Ryanair and TUI are all based at this airport.


      The Airport is approximately 22 minute drive away, with a proposed driving route available by clicking this link.

    • Birmingham Airport (International)

      Located just over 50 miles away, Birmingham Airport which has flights to and from Krakow, Madrid, Amsterdam,  Vienna, Orlando, Sydney, Singapore and more. Airlines based at the airport include Are Lingus, EasyJet, Emirates, Jet2, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Qatar, Ryanair, TUI and many more.


      The Airport is approximately 55 minutes drive away from Nottingham, with a proposed driving route available by clicking this link.

    Private Transport

    Indoor Hockey UK always recommends travelling to our venues by public transport wherever possible. If you need to use your own private vehicles, we urge players, spectators and officials to share transport wherever possible

    • Car/ Motorbike

      There are a number of car parks available throughout the University Campus for use by visitors, staff and students. Even though the Sports Centre Car Park isn't that big, there are plenty of other spaces within a short walking distance. If you are visiting for an event, then you should park in one of the pay and display car parks on campus. 

    • Coach / Mini Bus

      Coach and mini buses are able to park on campus, but space is strictly limited. Drop off bays are available outside the venue. If you are intending to bring a coach or mini bus to this venue for one of our events, please contact Indoor Hockey UK at least 72 hours before arrival.

    • Campus Car Parks

      There are a number of car parks available throughout our campuses for use by visitors, staff and students. If you are visiting the campus temporarily, then you should park in one of the pay and display car parks on campus. 

    • Blue Badge Parking

      Limited parking for those with a blue badge is available at the Sports Village car park. You will be required to display your blue badge whilst parked throughout the event. Additional Blue Badge Parking is also available at other car parks located on the University Campus.

    • Drop Off / Pick Up

      A free drop off / pick up area is available outside the arena. There is no parking within this area and a maximum wait time of 15 minutes. Vehicles must not be left unattended at any time. To help with dropping off, Indoor Hockey UK can provide a kit assistance service, to allow you to leave your kit supervised whilst you park your vehicle. To use the kit assistance service, you must contact Indoor Hockey UK at least 72 hours before attending an event.
