These awards are designed to acknowledge all the hard work our umpires commit at the events. Each year a worthy winner is chosen by the appointed umpire support team

About this Award

For each event, at least one umpire will be identified who has had an outstanding performance and had a positive impact on the games in which they have umpired. These awards are designed to acknowledge all the hard work our umpires commit at the events themselves and outside, through their continued learning and development. 

The Umpire Performance Award was introduced at the 2017 Championships. Prior to 2023, the award was presented to an umpire after each day of competition, however since then, and as we introduced more activities, the 2 awards will be presented to an umpire upon the completion of each event - one for Performance and one for Development. 

The award winners are chosen by the appointed umpire support team that has attended each event. If the award is presented for a league, this will be chosen by every person appointed as umpire support throughout the season getting to vote for an umpire.
